Communication & Implementation

Communication & Implementation Services

It’s important that employees understand their benefits so they are able to make informed decisions. Depending on the cost and who an employee may choose to include in their coverage, benefits can be one of the largest financial decisions an employee makes each year. For employers, it can be time-consuming to answer questions and guide employees on benefits options, especially during open enrollment. More than ever, Employers are finding the need to communicate with employees digitally, by email and text; and not only for benefit enrollment purposes. To help with these challenges, NBI provides a digital solution which optimizes the benefits enrollment process and reduces much of HR’s burden of educating and administering the plans.

You Choose How You Want Benefits Communicated to Your Employees Which Determines How We Submit Their Elections to the Insurance Carrier

Go Digital

NBI’s Bernieportal HRIS platform technology improves employee benefits communication and implementation.

Even though employees can follow through communication and enrollment self-service on this platform, the following high-touch services can be added for clarity through meaningful interaction:

  • Formal On-Site Enrollment Meetings where NBI comes on-location to provide an overview in a group setting, and/or visit with employees one-on-one to assist with logging in, review of benefits, and enrollment through laptops.

Stay With Paper

For Employers who prefer the “Old School” process of communication and implementation.

You may be an employer with mixed demographics in your workforce or you have a majority of employees who are not tech-savvy. You may feel that “going digital” may not be a good fit as you evaluate your employee population. Due to diverse needs within a group of employees, it’s best to have multiple options available for employee assistance. NBI works with our clients to explain the pros and cons of both processes, and determine the best method of communication and implementation for them specifically. Processing a paper Open Enrollment generally involves:

  • NBI creating custom Benefit Booklets (logo-branded and with full color print in both English and Spanish) and Election Forms to distribute to employees for them to complete and sign.
  • Formal On-Site Enrollment Meetings where NBI comes on-location to provide an overview of benefits and form instructions in a group setting, and visits with employees one-on-one to assist with any personal questions.
  • Call Center (Option for Employers with 50+ enrolled Employees) where Employees are able to call NBI’s Call Center team and talk directly to Benefit Advisors for review of benefits and enrollment assistance.

We know that when employees understand their benefits, they perceive them as more valuable. There are independent studies that show 80% of employees who ranked their benefits satisfaction as very high, also ranked their job satisfaction as very high. Unfortunately, there is not a one-size-fits-all communication medium to effectively reach all employees. Therefore, employers must use deliberate and comprehensive engagement strategies to communicate their benefits package. We believe in building engagement strategies that accommodate our clients and unique employee population. Education is critical to engagement; and it is one of our guiding principles during Open Enrollment as well as throughout the year.
