The new health reform law gives a tax credit to certain small employers that provide health care coverage to their employees, effective with tax years beginning in 2010. The following calculation link ask pertinent questions and allows input, and from that information will provide an estimate on your potential Tax Credit as it applies for 2010-2013, including information on transition relief for 2010. You can print this information an provide it to your CPA for further tax evaluation. An enhanced version of the credit will be effective beginning in 2014. Using a portal such as this allows rate up (if any) to be calculated up front in proposals so your employer can make a more informed decision when comparing competitor plans and rates. Note, all information contained from this portal is only shared with Insurance Carriers for rate determination. At no time is any of your private medical information shared with your employer.
